CNAB Invites U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to Visit AUBiHThe Honorable Joe Biden
The Vice President of the United States of America
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Honorable Vice-President Biden,

In light of your recent announcement to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina during the week of May 18, 2009, I am writing to you as the President of the Congress of North American Bosniaks (CNAB) which represents more than 350,000 American Bosniaks to invite you to visit the American University of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBiH). The Chairman of AUBiH, Mr. Denis Prcić, would be honored to host you at his university in Sarajevo. In turn, Mr. Prcić could invite students not only from AUBiH but also from other public and private universities throughout the country. Your visit to AUBiH would be a wonderful opportunity to publically address young Bosnians of all ethnicities and backgrounds about the virtues of higher education and its ability to integrate communities and help build a common prosperous future for the country.

AUBiH and State University of New York (SANY) have been partners since 2006, when they entered into an agreement to offer an American-style education and a U.S.-certified SUNY diploma to students in Bosnia. Today, more than 230 Bosnians are enrolled in this program and are working toward degrees from AUBiH and SUNY. We deliver our classes online, mainly through video conferencing. AUBiH has a team of American faculty working in Bosnia and teaching classes in English. AUBiH has campuses in Sarajevo and Tuzla and will open its third campus this fall in Banja Luka.

On behalf of the Congress of North American Bosniaks, I thank you for taking the time to consider this invitation, and please accept my gratitude in advance for considering this visit with Bosnian students a possibility.

Mr. Haris Alibašić

President of the CNAB
