The Congress of Bosniaks of North America (CBNA) proudly participated in the Medzlis 4 Conference over Memorial Day weekend, with Executive Director Selma Porca serving as a guest panelist and speaker. This impactful event brought together Bosniak communities from eight states and eleven communities to foster unity, share knowledge, and celebrate collective achievements.

As part of the conference, Selma Porca joined a dynamic panel discussion on community activism, where she shared insights on how Bosniak-American communities can collaborate to strengthen their collective voice and achieve shared goals. Her contributions underscored the importance of engagement and proactive efforts in building a vibrant and resilient community.

A highlight of the conference was the donation of 50 copies of Dr. Amra Sabic-El-Rayess’s acclaimed book, Three Summers, to children and youth from Medzlis 4. This initiative, made possible through a partnership with InterfaithLab TC, aims to amplify Bosniak narratives and ensure their inclusion in educational spaces. Youth attendees pledged to read the book and donate it to their school or public libraries, broadening awareness of Bosniak stories and experiences.

During the gala dinner, Selma addressed all attendees, emphasizing the critical role of civic engagement, the importance of voting, and the need to support Bosniak institutions. Her speech inspired attendees to take active roles in their communities and contribute to a stronger, united future.
