June 10 – The Center for Advanced Studies in Sarajevo and the Sami Frashëri Institute for Political Studies in Tirana organized an international conference titled “Balkans 2030”, which took place between June 9th and 11th in Sarajevo. The conference hosted participants from six countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Kosovo. CBNA’s former president and current leadership advisor, Eldin Kajevic, attended the Conference and participated in the discussions on behalf of our organization.
Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Sven Alkalaj, opened the conference. He spoke about the current political situation in the world and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The program was divided into five sessions and covered several important geopolitical topics in the context of the new political reality:
- The world after the war in Ukraine,
- China and Russia in the context of new realities,
- Autocracy against democracy,
- European Union, NATO and the Balkans: between strategic partnership and democratic standards,
- Regional cooperation in new circumstances.
