ACBH CALL TO ACTION: Ask your representative to co-sponsor a new resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina

baacbhAuthor:  Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina

On June 12, 2015, Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ), co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Bosnia introduced a new resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina (H. Res. 310) in U.S. Congress, marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide. We are proud to announce that 51 members of U.S. Congress have co-sponsored H. Res. 310 and we need your help to get more members of Congress to sign on as co-sponsors!

The original goal was to reach 20 members, of which 10 had to be members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  We surpassed this, thanks to your help!

However, in order for H. Res. 310 to pass in U.S. Congress, and not get blocked, it is critical that the resolution gains more co-sponsors.

ACBH volunteers will continue to urge members of U.S. Congress to sign on, but that is not enough.  We need you, in your local communities, to reach out as well.

Here are three steps you can take:

  1. Send a letter to your member of Congress – it only takes 2 minutes – by clicking  HERE.
  2. Please forward the link to all your contacts in the U.S.
  3. Please contact your member of Congress’ district office, and request a face-to-face meeting.

The future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its historical narrative and territorial integrity depends on all of us.
