The Congress of North American Bosniaks (CNAB), representing the interest of Bosniaks in United States of America and Canada, welcomes the European Parliament decision to “tear down the visa walls” by allowing visa free travel to the EU for citizens of Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Under the new visa free arrangements, citizens of Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina will not need a visa to travel to any country in the Schengen area, which covers most areas of the EU, except the UK and Ireland. Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens living in the United States and Canada welcome this as a first positive step by the EU in welcoming Bosnia and Herzegovina membership to the EU.
We certainly welcome the positive support by the honorable members of the EU Parliament from Slovenia, United Kingdom, Germany, and others who understand the current political situation in Balkans, and know that without a stable Bosnia and Herzegovina there can be no peace and stability in the region. Openning the economic perspective and prosperity to Bosnian citizen will have far reaching positive consequences in this region.
