Youth Empowered Through Innovative Job Preparation Program Across 3 Cities in Western Balkans

The Youth Workforce Development Program expanded to Novi Pazar this year after its successful implementation in Bihać and Zenica in previous years. This year, each of the three locations hosted a two-day event featuring lecture-style guidance from local and international experts alongside hands-on activities to apply newly acquired skills. Participants explored resume creation, interview preparation, and digital professional branding, with the program concluding in each location with professional headshots to enhance their online profiles.

A total of 51 individuals benefited from this year’s program, reflecting its growing impact on addressing youth unemployment. In Novi Pazar, the program was organized in partnership with Merhamet, while in Zenica and Bihać, the local chambers of commerce played a pivotal role in local coordination. By providing both theoretical and practical training, the initiative gave participants tools to confidently navigate the competitive job market.

The program was enhanced by international consultation from Florida Gulf Coast University, adding a global perspective to the initiative. This effort was orchestrated by the Congress of Bosniaks of North America (CBNA), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, through the guidance of Hasan Kajtezovic, CBNA’s Director of Homeland Relations, and Board Member Mirza Prses. Their coordination highlights the significant role of diaspora organizations in supporting the homeland’s development.
