Una-Sana Canton, Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina (June 10th, 2021)
The Congress of Bosniaks of North America is pleased to announce the launch of “New Leaders of Una-Sana Canton” program that commenced on June 10th in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of this program is the transfer of knowledge and best practices from the U.S. to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce (Naples, FL) has successfully run a similar program in the U.S. for the past several years. The Congress of Bosniaks of North America, through the effort of its Director of Homeland Relations, Mr. Hasan Kajtezovic, was able to bring together the Chambers of Commerce from Naples, FL and Una Sana Canton and facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the two organizations. This innovative leadership program kicked off with the opening session, “Support to Economy and NGOs”.
The main goal of “New Leaders of Una-Sana Canton” is to establish a strong local leadership network between all participants in the program as well as to foster cooperation for the benefit of the whole community. The program is supported by the USAID “Diaspora Invest” project.
“New Leaders of Una-Sana Canton” is implemented in cooperation with the following prominent institutions and organizations of Una-Sana Canton: USC Government, City of Bihać, USC Development Agency, Bihać Cultural Center, USC Museum, Cantonal Hospital “Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić”, Una National Park, Water Resource Center and Environment “Una Consulting”, RTV USK and the Association of Women from Una.
With five daily sessions on various topics, program participants were introduced to the organization, operations and functioning of these institutions, and they were briefed on projects and opportunities for joint cooperation. In the first session of “New Leaders of Una-Sana Canton”, the program’s participants became acquainted with the work, organization and projects of the USC Chamber of Commerce, the USC Development Agency and the Association of Women from Una. Lectures were held by Enes Ružnić (President of the USC Chamber of Commerce), Lorena Felić (Head of the Department for Creation and Implementation of the USK Development Agency Project) and Adela Šušnjar (MEAL specialist of the Women from Una Association).
The program’s next session will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 on the topic of “Tourism and Environmental Protection” and will present the Water and Environment Resource Center “Una Consulting” and Una National Park.
