The Congress of Bosniaks of North America (CBNA) is pleased to announce the election of Mr. Amir Ovcina as the president of CBNA’s Board of Directors! Mr. Ovcina was elected by a unanimous vote of the Board.
Mr. Ovcina shared his excitement in a statement: “ I am honored, humbled and excited to be elected to the office of president of CBNA’s Board. While it is impossible to overstate the significance of Mr. Kajevic’s role in the resurgence of CBNA, including the quantity and quality of educational, social and cultural programs and activities that CBNA organized during his tenure as president, CBNA will continue to expand its programs and activities in accordance with its mission and strategic vision for the future. Our active goal across all of our programs and activities remains to identify, mentor, develop and train future leaders in Bosniak communities across North America, who will embrace and engage in meaningful and active roles in their respective U.S. and Canadian societies.
Mr. Eldin Kajevic, who has been an exemplary leader and mentor to the team, expressed his excitement with the election of Mr. Ovcina to the position of president: “It has been my honor and privilege to work with this team of talented Board members over the past 18 months. I am delighted about the many accomplishments this Board was able to achieve in such a short time and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication to our organization and our cause. I am equally excited about the future of CBNA, especially after the Board members elected Mr. Ovcina as our new president. Mr. Ovcina is a second generation Bosniak-American and comes from a family that has for decades supported and served our community in Chicago and beyond. Mr. Ovcina’s professionalism, high ethical standards and integrity fully reflect the core values of CBNA and I am confident that he will bring new energy and fresh ideas to our organization and to our North American communities.”
Mr. Ovcina has served as CBNA’s Vice President for the past 18 months, along Mr. Kajevic. They have both made tremendous strides in moving this organization forward and our team looks forward to continuing to work together with these exemplary leaders in furthering the vision and mission of CBNA.
We congratulate Mr. Ovcina on his new position and express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Kajevic for his hard work and dedication to CBNA over the past 18 months.
