Session 1:
May 10, 2022 – The first session of the program for young business people “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” was held at the Chamber of Commerce of Zenica-Doboj Canton on the topic “Support to the Economy”.
The participants of the program were introduced to the work of two institutions from the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton. Lecturers were: Mr. Nedžad Jusufhodžić, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce ZDK, also the head of the Program for this Canton, and Mr. Seid Brka President of the Chamber of Crafts ZDK and Ms. Hidajeta Mrkić, Secretary of the Chamber of Crafts ZDK. Additionally, the project participants were addressed by Mr. Hasan Kajtezović, on behalf of the Congress of Bosniaks of North America.
The ZDK Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Congress of Bosniaks of North America and the Naples Chamber of Commerce from the United States, is organizing the “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” program for the first time. The program was made possible in cooperation with prominent institutions and organizations from the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The idea came from a similar program that the Naples Chamber of Commerce in Florida, USA, has been successfully organizing for more than 40 years.
“New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” is a program created in order to identify and bring together new leaders in the ZDK area. Participants in this program are young and promising employees from the public and private sectors aged 21 to 40 years. In five one-day sessions, the participants of the program will get acquainted with the organization, business and functioning of previously selected institutions and companies, and they will be presented with various projects and opportunities for cooperation.
The main goal of the program is to establish a strong local network between all participants in the program and to achieve cooperation for the benefit of the whole community. The next session will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 on the topic of “Education”.
Session 3:
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Nedžad Jusufhodžić, representative of the ZDK Chamber of Commerce and Head of the Program for this Canton, shared the benefits of the Program for participants, but also for the institutions and companies from which they come. Establishing a strong local network between all participants and achieving cooperation for the benefit of the whole community is the main goal of this program.
The work of the Public Employment Service of ZDK was presented by Ms. Sevimka Drinić, Expert Associate for Professional Information, Guidance, Selection and Disabled Persons. The challenges that this institution is facing, as well as business opportunities for young people, have aroused great interest among those present. Although all participants in the program are employees with higher education, a high degree of discussion on this topic has been achieved, given that all participants in the program met with the work of the Public Employment Service of ZDK.
After that, the work of ArcelorMittal Zenica, but also the development of leadership skills in young people, was presented by Ms. Alena Kahrimanović, Manager of the Department of Communications and Corporate Responsibility. Considering that this is an international company that directly employs about 2,300 workers in the city of Zenica alone, it is extremely important that program participants get acquainted with the functioning of this company, which is also the largest exporter from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Vedad Karić, Director of the Rolling Mill Production Plant, also addressed the audience on behalf of ArcelorMittal Zenica, who shared his experiences of work and progress in ArcelorMittal Zenica.

“New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” is a specially designed program for recognizing and networking new leadership forces in the ZDK area. Participants in this program are young and promising employees from the public and private sectors aged 21 to 40 years old.
In five one-day sessions, the participants of the program will get acquainted with the organization, business and functioning of previously selected institutions and companies, and they will be presented with various projects and opportunities for joint cooperation.
The next session will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. year, on the topic: “Culture and Art”.
Session 4:
The fourth session within the Program for Young Business People “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” was held on the topic: “Culture and Art”.
The City Library of Zenica was presented by the newly appointed director of this institution, M.Sc. Nermin Ormanović, with associates. The Native Collection, as well as the American Corner, are two segments of the work of the Zenica City Library that were of special interest to the participants. The work of the Bosnian National Theater Zenica was also presented by Mr. Denis Krdžalić, Executive Producer at this institution, who is one of the participants in the Program. After the visit to the Bosnian National Theater in Zenica, a visit to the Museum of the City of Zenica was organized.
After the visit to these three cultural institutions, the participants of the Program exchanged their impressions about the Program through coffee & networking. It is quite necessary to emphasize the mutual interaction of Program participants, exchange of business and private experiences, as well as the desire to continue cooperation, which was established through the implementation of this Program. Mr. Nedžad Jusufhodžić, representative of the ZDK Chamber of Commerce and Program Manager for this Canton, stressed that the input of Program participants are extremely important and will be used in the implementation of the program “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” in the coming years.”

Since this is the last session within this year’s program “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton”, participants will be awarded certificates of participation in this program, which is organized for the first time in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Session 5:
The Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Congress of Bosniaks of North America and the Naples Florida Chamber of Commerce from the United States, organized the “New Leaders of Zenica-Doboj Canton” Program for Young Business People. The program was realized in cooperation with prominent institutions and companies from the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton. Through a dozen sessions that were held in the most important and most prominent institutions and organizations of Zenica-Doboj Canton, participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with their organization, business and functioning. Participants are expected to use the knowledge, information and connections gained in this Program for the benefit of the whole community.
The goals of the program are:
- Participants received valuable information and learned about the organization and functioning of cantonal and local executive institutions (cultural, educational and health), media, businesses, etc.
- Build up of a strong local network between all participants in the program, deepened links between the public and private sectors.
- Institutions and organizations recognized and recognized as support to young professionals and companies in ZDK.
The sessions, held May to June 2022, gave participants an insight into the organization of business and a tour of the premises, as well as introduction to other employees. After the end of the 5th session, on June 7, 2022. The President of the ZDK Chamber of Commerce, Diana Babić, addressed the participants, thanked them for their participation in the Program, and presented them with certificates.
